Service Overview

The T4U service is a door-to-door transport service operating in the Central Buchan area. Providing transport for different purposes; to and from GP/Hospital appointments, respite, visiting family and friends along with any other appointments.

As we transport a variety of clients, with varying needs, the transportation we use is fully accessible, with low steps and a rear lift/ramp for wheelchair access.

HOW IT WORKS

Bookings are taken on a first come, first served basis and booking in advance is essential. We may not always be able to provide the transport you require at the desired time, but we will do our best to accommodate your needs.

USING THE SERVICE

Please contact the main office to register for this service; we require passenger name, address and contact details. Once registered, trip details will be discussed; destination, time and duration of appointment, along with any mobility issues or transport requirements; wheelchair access etc. Additional information is collected to ensure that all your safety and comfort needs are met. You (or your client) must live in the rural Buchan area and have limited or no access to public transport due to any of the following criteria.

Over the age of concession
Live with a disability
Unable to use conventional public transport services - including rural isolation.

SERVICE COST

We must charge a fare for this service and that cost can vary between £5.00 and £25.00 depending on the distance involved for a return journey within one hour. Escorts will not be charged for and all prices will be confirmed at the time of your query/booking.

As a community owned charity, Buchan Dial-a-Community Bus has no statutory requirement to provide transport, however, we try very hard to work with all organisations to help those people who may not be able to access any other forms of transport easily. If we cannot provide transport for you on one of our buses, we will do our very best to provide transport for you with a volunteer driver.
