Be-link’D - Community Transport, a new initiative offering free community transport in the Central Buchan Area.

The free Be-link’D service operated by Buchan Dial-a-Community Bus, is designed to help meet the needs of people who cannot access suitable transport because of existing bus times, accessibility, or cost. 

Collections and drop-offs can be to or from work, a public place, or a home address, as long as it is within the Central Buchan area.

Seats on the bus must be booked in advance and are subject to availability.

Be-link’D, which uses an all-electric 7-seat, accessible vehicle, The vehicle has been funded by Vattenfall UK Unlock our Future Fund and the service, funded by Fairer Aberdeenshire Fund, has been led and developed by several Community Planning partners including Aberdeenshire Council, NHS Grampian, Buchan Development Partnership, Foyer and the Department of Work and Pensions.



who can use the bus?

This service is operated on a referral basis only. Once a referral form has been completed by one of approved project partners and processed, either the referrer or the client can phone or email to book the transport. NB. Clients who are already registered with the Buchan Dial-a-Community Bus for the T4U service will not be eligible to use the new scheme.

The service will operate throughout the Central Buchan area.

What are the times it will be available?

It will be available Monday to Friday with pick-ups from 0900 and a last drop-off at 1530.

How do I book the bus?

What if I need a wheelchair to get around?

The bus will be able to accommodate a wheelchair; however, you must advise this at the time of booking, you will also need to advise if you need any assistance.

I need somebody to accompany me, can they come on the bus too?

If you need any support or assistance you can take another person with you as long as you book them a seat on the bus also at the time of your booking.

Can children go on the bus?

Children of any age can travel. Children age 0-16 may travel if they are accompanied by a responsible adult. Child car seats can be provided if needed or clients may use their own. The vehicle has standard isofix fittings.

What can I use the bus for?

Attending DWP, health appointments, going shopping, attending training, group or club activities, library services and social purposes.


Wherever suits, pick ups can be from home address, work, public place, as long as it is within the Central Buchan area..
